Children In The UK Going Through Hard Times

Posted on March 21, 2013

In the UK 1 in 5 children are living in poverty. From Glasgow to London, The End Child Poverty campaign has made over 100 charities to stop children living in poverty.

Over the last few the country has been in and out of recession, people have been losing jobs and families have been struggling with money.  It’s hard to even put dinner on the table for their family.

“It’s unfair that children can’t enjoy their childhood. They have to worry about their parents having money. Parliaments have to help families, but they are not. It’s not fair.”-Mr Hurley

To help all this, Newsround has come up with a campaign called “Hard Times”.  Newsround’s Ricky has been looking into how kids in the UK have been hit by recession.

‘Hard times’ has helped thousands of families all around the UK to get back on their own two feet, and live a happy life with NO worries.

“It’s sad that children can’t be able to have a warm home.”-Rhianna Y8
